BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROFESSION: A Resident is a person who has received a medical degree (MD or DO) and who practices medicine under the supervision of fully licensed physicians, usually in a hospital or clinic.
| BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF LICENSING BOARD: | The Arizona Medical Board regulates those engaged in the practice of medicine in Arizona. The Board governs the issuance of licenses, registrations and certificates for individuals. The Board initiates investigations into complaints and self-reports concerning a nurse’s possible non-compliance with the law, and determines and administers disciplinary actions if it is determined that Arizona’s Medical Practice Act has been violated. |

- The Board determines if discipline is merited
- Discipline is given or the case is dismissed
- The licensee may appeal
